Membership Benefit Types

Membership Types in RKd allow for 2 different types of Member Benefits Types.

  1. Hours Allowance- This option gives the member a set number of hours per month (or unlimited) to participate in your venue's reservable activity.  In this case, the member is essentially prepaying for a bulk number of hours each month on a recurring basis.  Once those hours are used, you can also choose to provide the member with a discount on additional hours during that month.  This is entirely optional for this Membership Benefit Type option (see Reservation Discount After Allowance is Depleted).
    • For the Hours Allowance Benefit Type, you will have the option to include a Rollover Limit if all of the hours are not used during the membership term.  The roll over amount will be added to the Base Monthly Allowance at the beginning of the next term. Members will never start a new term with more hours than the sum of these 2 hour totals.
    • For example, lets say a Membership Type has a Base Monthly Allowance of 10 hours per month with a Rollover Limit of 5 hours.  If a member only uses 5 of the 10 Base Allowance Hours (leaving 5 remaining), they will start the next term with a total of 15 hours to use during that 30 day term (10 hour base + 5 hour Rollover).  If that same member then again only uses 5 hours while they have 15 to start the term, leaving 10 hours unused, only 5 hours will Rollover into the next month and the Member will again start the next term with 15 available hours.

  1. Reservation Discount Only - This option gives members only a discounton reservations rather than the bulk pre-purchase concept in the option above.  This is a great option for encouraging league members to practice outside of league nights while not requiring an additional financial commitment from the league member (and incentivizing league sign-ups).
    • For example, if your venue runs leagues, you could give (for free) all of the paying league members a monthly membership that only includes a discount on reservations.  Then after the League is over, you'll have an opportunity to upsell to a higher membership tier, keep them on the free tier indefinitely or simply cancel their membership until the next league season.
    • The Reservation Discount Only option is also a great option for a bottom tier Membership Type.  This option can be set up to be very inexpensive (lower commitment) for your customer on a monthly basis (which means an easier sale), encourage them to visit your venue multiple times per month while still paying for each visit (at a discounted rate), bringing friends, utilizing your F&B options, and potentially a test before upgrading to a higher tier membership.
