The Guests of Members Discounts option is entirely optional, but when enabled, will provide a percentage discount to non-members who are part of a reservation where an Active Member is also present.
The Active Member must be one of the participating customers on a reservation for these discounts to apply to the other non-members of the group. If a Member is initially added as a part of a reservation but is later removed, the Guests of Members Discounts applied to the non-members will also be removed.
If there are 2 or more Members added to a reservation, the first Member added will be designated as the “Controlling Member" as indicated by an icon next to their name in the Group Details Tab in the Reservation Details Drawer. The Guests of Members Discounts provided by the Membership Type of the Controlling Member will determine what discounts, if any, the non-members will receive towards the reservation costs. In the event that there are 2 or more members as a part of a reservation but the Controlling Member is then removed, the Controlling Member designation will transfer to the next Active Member in the reservation and any Guests of Member Discounts will be recalculated using the Membership Type settings for the new Controlling Member.
- The Membership Types of the 2 or more Active Members in the scenario above may be the same and the Guest of Member Discounts will not change for the non-members, however, venues may choose to provide higher or lower Guest of Member Discounts for different tiers of Membership Types.
Guests of Member Discounts can be selectively applied to one, many or all custom customer types created by the venue, including the “Uniform Pricing” option where venues are not using customer type pricing. Please do not create more than one discount for the same customer type. In most cases, venues choose to add Guest of Member Discounts to only the full-priced Customer Types (Adult, Thrower, Golfer, Participant, etc…) and choose not to add discounts to already discounted Customer Types (Students, Seniors, Youths, etc…)
- For example, you may have a package created for Ladies Night (where Ladies get 30% off) on Wednesdays and want to allow Active Members to use their Membership Allowance Hours towards that package, however, you may not want the already discounted “Ladies” customer type to receive *additional Guests of Members Discounts. In this case, you would simply elect to not create a Guests of Members Discount for the “Ladies” customer type when setting up the Membership Type settings.
