Renewal Options

Membership types can be created with one of 3 renewal options which will determine what options will be presented to online customers while purchasing a membership.  Keep in mind that gifted memberships will *never have the option to have recurring billing turned on by default.


Customer Renewal Choice - Online customers will be presented with the option to choose between auto-renewal and non-renewing membership purchase during the membership purchase process.  If auto-renewal is selected, members will have the option to turn off this selection in the account settings of the member portal and allow their membership to expire at the end of their membership term.


Always Auto-Renew - Online customers will ONLY be presented with an auto-renew option and will not have the option to choose a non-renewing membership during the purchase process.  Members will have the option to turn off that selection in the account settings of the member portal and allow their membership to expire at the end of their membership term.


No Renewal - Online customers will ONLY be presented with a non-renewing membership option and will not have the option to choose an auto-renewing membership during the purchase process.  This membership Renewal Option is great for seasonal promotions like discounted summer memberships that are not intended to be allowed to provide the discounted membership prices for an extended period of time.
