Single Event packages are used most commonly in conjunction with the Special Event toggle for special circumstances like tournaments but can also be used to create packages for promotions like a Labor Day special or maybe even New Years Eve. Single day events will require only the input of a single date and a single start time for the event and will not have an option for an end date.
The major difference between using or not using the Special Event selection in conjunction with a Single Day Event is in how the reservations will be assigned to resources in the facility. When the Special Event toggle is turned on, the maximum occupancy is set by the admin user creating the package and can be higher or lower than the standard resource occupancy. Additionally, all customers who register for the event will be treated as a single group (but pay separately) on the day of the event and assigned to the selected resources set in the package. For example, everyone who signs up for the Tournament will play together on bays 1-4.
When the Single Event option is chosen and the Special Event toggle is NOT turned on, customers who make a reservation will be assigned to a specific, private resource just like any other standard package except that there is only a single date and a single start time for all reservations. In this scenario, the maximum occupancy is set by the actual occupancy of the resources as usual.
Using the New Years Eve example, you might create a package for a Single Event on Dec 31st starting at 10pm with a duration of 3 hours. Everyone who makes a reservation for this package will have their own private resource, start at 10pm (when the party starts!) and every reservation would end at 1am on Jan 1st. We would also suggest in this scenario that you set a minimum group size higher than normal to ensure efficient use of your resources. Lastly, for a New Years Eve package like this, you'll want to make sure that this package is the ONLY one allowed to book during the given time frame by using exclusion dates and times on the other packages at your facility.
