A Printer in RKd Advanced POS describes the actual, physical receipt printer. During set up the printer will have a number of different properties that allow order tickets to be printed at the correct receipt printer. Printers can be set up to print receipts, chits (order tickets), or both.
In order to Setup your receipt printer for the first time, you will need to have the following information ready.
- Printer Mac Address - What is a MAC Address?
- The MAC address of your device can be found printed on the box the printer was shipped in, a label located on the bottom or back of the printer, and also on the printer status report.
- The printer status report is printed when the user holds down the feed button while simultaneously turn on the power button.
- A MAC address will be displayed in the following format: 1a:2b:3c:4d:5e:6f
- A Printer Location to assign the printer to
- The printer location will determine what chits are printed from the printer
- A plan for whether the printer will print only receipts, only chits, or both
- A plan for whether or not the printer will be paired with an auto-opening cash drawer
- Cash drawers can be purchased HERE.
- Decide whether or not the printer is a "Master Printer"
- A Master Printer will ignore all Printer Location settings and will instead print ALL Chits ALL the time.
