POS Products

POS Products are generally Merchandise Items that can be sold over the counter but can also be simple F&B Items like a bag of chips or a can of soda so long as the expectation is that payment will be taken at the time of receiving the product.  At this time, POS Products can not be added to the balance of a reservation but future feature additions will allow for this and much more with the launch of our fully integrated Advanced F&B POS.

Creating new POS Products is quite simple after selecting the "New Product" button in the upper right hand corner of the Products table. Additionally, the order in which products are displayed to the user can be edited by selecting "Edit Sort Order" button and dragging the Products up or down in the list.

Product Name

Simple name for your Product that can be as descriptive as needed for it's intended use.  For example, you may have rental shoes at your venue which also means that you have many different sizes that can be rented.  In this case, a single Product called "Rental Shoes" can be used as the sale price will be the same regardless of shoe size.  Conversely, you may have several different styles of shirts that you want to sell for different prices due to having different Cost of Goods Sold for the Products.  In this case, you will want to create several different Products, name appropriately, in order to account for the different styles and pricing schemes.

Price

The sale price of your Product.  By default, this price will not include sales tax and as such, sales tax will be added to the final sales total.  If you prefer to include sales tax as a part of the price entered into this field, select the "Include Sales Tax in Price?" toggle and RKd will auto calculate the sub-total required of your product so that after adding sales tax, it will match the entry in this field.  For example, the image below shows the same product with sales tax not included and with sales tax included (note the difference in final price under the "Resultant Pricing" table.

Sales Tax

By default, this will be the sales tax rate that is set at the Location level settings.  If needed, this Sales Tax rate can be customized by toggling on the "Custom Sales Tax %?" toggle below.  This will allow the Sales Tax to be customized for this Product in order to override the standard sales tax rate.
